ISTQB Advanced Level – Test Manager (Virtual Delivery)

This course prepares participants for the advanced test manager examination which builds upon the Foundation level.

The 5-day tutor led software testing training course has been designed to enable participants understand, apply and analyse key testing principles and processes. It addresses key test management topics such as risk based testing, estimation and planning, process improvement, people skills and team composition amongst others. The course follows the ISTQB Advanced Level – Test Manager 2012 syllabus and covers the following:

Content includes

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
  • Manage a testing project by implementing the mission, goals and testing processes established for the testing organization.
  • Organise and lead risk identification and risk analysis sessions and use the results of such sessions for test estimation, planning, monitoring and control.
  • Create and implement test plans consistent with organizational policies and test strategies.
  • Continuously monitor and control the test activities to achieve project objectives.
  • Assess and report relevant and timely test status to project stakeholders
  • Identify skills and resource gaps in their test team and participate in sourcing adequate resources.
  • Identify and plan necessary skills development within their test team.
  • Propose a business case for test activities which outlines the costs and benefits expected.
  • Ensure proper communication within the test team and with other project stakeholders.
  • Participate in and lead test process improvement initiatives.
Note: The ISTQB Advanced Test Manager syllabus contains the detailed learning objectives per chapter/section which are of course addressed by this course

Who should attend

This course is aimed at testing practitioners, responsible for organising and improving the testing process, i.e. project managers, project leaders, test managers, quality managers, test team leaders, senior test personnel and test analysts

*Delegates must already have passed the ISTQB Foundation Certificate.

Qualification

The ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Manager certificate is awarded to all those who choose to sit and successfully complete the exam.
