Professional Mentor Training (EMCC)

Objectives

The European Mentorship and Coaching Council (EMCC) accredited mentor training program prepares emerging leaders for mentoring roles in the Irish MedTech industry. It offers various accreditation options and acknowledges prior learning, providing a tailored experience for individual learners. Following the EDelian approach, the program emphasizes experiential learning in a psychologically safe environment. Mentors develop skills through facilitated processes including identifying their individual strengths profile, creating personalised approaches, and reflecting on practice. EDelia workshops prioritise experiential learning with activities, group discussions, and interactive exercises led by expert facilitators versed in learner-centred principles.

Course Delivery:

This programme will be delivered via 5 sessions spread across 11 weeks. Mandatory attendance is required for the three in-person sessions in the Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel, Limerick Junction, Co. Tipperary, E34 VK12 at the beginning, in the middle and end. Online sessions will be recorded to allow flexibility. See below for upcoming course schedule.

The EDelia EMCC accredited mentor training programme aims to stand as a cornerstone for emerging leaders in the MedTech industry, fostering mentorship excellence and professional growth.

On successful completion of this Programme participants will be able to:

ˇ Examine, explore, and consider mentoring theories and models that are relevant to the learner’s area of expertise.
ˇ Develop the practical skills and techniques to effectively undertake a mentoring role in the workplace.
ˇ Apply mentoring skills and demonstrate how they can be used effectively to improve the personal and professional development of both the learner and their mentee.

The aim of the ESF+ programme is to invest in people with the objective of achieving high employment levels, fair social protection and a skilled and resilient workforce for the future world of work.  ESF + funding will also improve employment opportunities by providing training to up-skill and reskill, lifelong learning, and education measures with a focus on those who face greater challenges in accessing the labour market. Who should attend

This course is intended for emerging leaders in middle-management roles. All learners on this programme will be expected to identify a mentee in advance of the programme, who they can actively mentor throughout.

Accreditation Options

Option 1. Certificate of Attendance: This requires attending all in-person & online workshops
Option 2. EMCC Quality Award in Mentoring at Diploma level: This requires attendance at all workshops plus completion of assigned reading, quizzes, and skills practice
Option 3. EMCC Professional Mentor at Foundation Level: Option 2 requirements plus completion of relevant hours of mentoring experience. Experience can be completed up to 6 months post-programme or can be recognised from 2 years prior to the course*.
Option 4. EMCC Professional Mentor at Practitioner Level: Option 3 requirements plus completion of additional relevant hours of mentoring experience. Experience can be completed up to 6 months post-programme or can be recognised from 2 years prior to the course*.

*Structured RPL form is required to be completed to gain recognition of prior experience
